What a fantastic day at the MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, TX. The day was sponsored by Lamborghini NA. Private track session for current customers and those considering a Lamborghini purchase. Our guests were able to do 10 Laps in a new Lamborghini. Everyone was able to drive a coupe, Spyder, Superleggera and a Performante. We had 18 in the morning track session and 20 guests in the afternoon.

Because Earth is our very favorite planet (no offense, Jupiter—you’re super special, too), we prefer to celebrate Earth Day year round instead of just once a year. So you can imagine how happy we were when we heard that the 2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI was named a 10 Best Green Car by Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com.
The 10 Best Green Cars announcement comes just in time for Earth Day, perfect timing for a list of eco-friendly cars. And with gas prices well over $4 a gallon in many US cities, there’s never a bad time to drive a fuel-efficient vehicle. The top 10 cars were selected on a variety of criteria, but the Passat TDI was chosen in part because it offers up to 43 mpg with a powerful, responsive engine. The editors went on to state that the Passat TDI is “further proof of how clean and green diesels have become.” We’d like to think that it’s just the beginning.

Over 500 car enthusiasts attended Boardwalk Auto Group’s Spring Concorso held at Boardwalk Ferrari / Maserati on Saturday, April 14, 2012. 62 cars were entered in the contest and 8 winners received trophies, along with autographed helmets and jersey’s from the Dallas Stars. All of the Boardwalk highline brands were represented including a new Porsche 911, Lamborghini Performante, Audi R8, and a Maserati GranTurismo. Blue Mesa served lunch and the Dallas Stars Ice Girls were on hand for pictures and helped with the exclusive showing of the new Ferrari 458 Spider.
Brian Ongaro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Boardwalk Auto Group said, “The Spring and Fall Concorso are two events that we look forward to hosting every year. We get to bring the North Dallas community together to experience the very best in automotive excellence. McKinney Volkswagen in McKinney, Texas is proud to announce that Douglas Lucas has earned one of the Top 3 Sales Consultant “National Champions” spots in the United States.
The 5th annual Volkswagen Service Quality Championship holds preliminary rounds in 70 countries and brings 140 finalists to the World Championship. This competition helps to demonstrate the expert service technicians and sales consultants that represent Volkswagen in dealerships throughout the world.
“Douglas beat out almost 1,000 Sales Consultant competitors from across the country in online testing and in-dealership walk around competition rounds,” stated Kelly Bezaire, Volkswagen Academy Project Coordinator.
Douglas was 1 of 50 Sales Consultants who made it to the hands-on Semi Finals competition in Dallas, Texas in October 2011. From those 50, he was 1 of 12 Sales Consultants who made it to the hands-on National Finals competition in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in January 2012. While in Florida, Douglas enjoyed some beach time, along with two days of hands-on testing. At the end of the National Finals, he took one of the Top 3 Sales Consultant “National Champions” spots in the U.S.
